About Jacqueline

Jacqueline Christensen is a freelance artist from Sayville, New York. She graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Geneseo in May 2017, with two majors, French and Art History, and two minors, Spanish and Museum Studies. Before beginning her journey of graduate school in Art History, she is pursuing her passion for painting to recharge, heal, and connect with her community during her gap year. While Jacqueline finds personal fulfillment in expressing her creativity through watercolor, she finds her best work to be that which she creates for others. She seeks to touch the lives of families on Long Island with local art, capturing the faces of family, friends, pets, and hometowns through her painting.

The portfolio provides a glimpse into the work Jacqueline has completed from 2012 (high school) until today. She specializes in watercolor portraiture, but equally enjoys animal portraits, landscapes and medieval lettering. The capital letters shown in the portfolio are works she created for her undergraduate honors thesis in Art History; they accompanied research she conducted on Celtic art and manuscript illumination in Northern France. She is fluent in French, and proficient in Spanish, and cultivates a tremendous passion for art, languages, and health.
